The defense industry is a key industry capable of ensuring the protection of the country and its citizens. The relevance of the topic of the article is due to the importance of the defense industry for the national security and economic development of the country. The author has analyzed the market, identified the factors of growth and constraints to the development of the industry, and determined the prospects for the development of the Russian defense industry based on the analysis of the PESTLE matrix. The constraints include the need to modernize production, the lack of qualified personnel, and dependence on imports. At the current stage of development of world economic and political relations, the special attention of the state to the defense industry market has become an impetus for development. Оборонная промышленность является ключевой отраслью, которая способна обеспечить защиту страны и ее граждан. Актуальность темы статьи обусловлена значимостью оборонной промышленности для национальной безопасности и экономического развития страны. Автор провел анализ рынка, выделил факторы роста и сдерживания развития отрасли, а также определил перспективы развития оборонной промышленности России на основе анализа матрицы PESTLE. К числу сдерживающих факторов относятся необходимость модернизации производства, недостаток квалифицированных кадров, зависимость от импорта. На современном этапе развития мировых экономических и политических связей особое внимание государства к рынку оборонной промышленности стало толчком для развития.
