<abstract xml:lang="en">
There is a long and varied history associated with the development of the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR). However, there are very few historical overviews in the academic literature that reflect the evolution of the academic understanding of the concept, along with societal and international developments that have influenced social responsibility, which have affected social expectations for corporate behavior. The purpose of this article is to provide a distinctive historical perspective and a view of the evolution of CSR as a conceptual paradigm by considering the most significant factors that have shaped its understanding and definition, such as academic contributions, international politics, and significant social and political history. To do this, a comprehensive literature review method was used. The author explores the most significant academic writings and social life events that have impacted the evolutionary process of CSR.

<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru">
